These are my #1 favorite sandals. I did not have to break them in and they are just as comfortable today as they were one year ago. I have worn them on (easier) hikes, wore them in rivers, wore them walking on pavement for miles. I have not even one negative thing to say. I am amazed.I am someone who cannot handle any material between my toes and have wimpy feet which is the main reason I first tried these. One year later they are still fully intact and working great. I hope they never stop making these!!!BUY!!!!!This is my third pair of Teva sandals. I wear a size 5 in sandals and this brand is always right on with their sizing. Very, very comfortable. I keep a spare in my closet just in case they quit making this model. Highly recommend.Updated:After wearing them for a week in Disneyland, I'm very happy to report that the straps didn't bother me at all!!! I was nervous about wearing them and brought tennis shoes just in case, but these ended up being very comfortable even after 12 hours of walking. I guess the straps did stretch because the didn't bother me at all. My legs were super tired by the end of the day, but my feet didn't hurt at all. I've changed my review from 4 stars to 5 stars and am so, so happy my long search for sandals paid off after all!!FYI I like these so much more than my Birkenstocks too. They are waterproof and so much better for walking.Original review:After a two month long search for the perfect sandal and purchasing (and then returning) three different styles of Teva's, I tried these on in a shoe store and instantly fell in love. They are SO comfortable. The shoe bed feels smooth and great, the straps are perfectly padded, the shoe feels cushy and they have the perfect amount of arch support for me. Plus they are even pretty cute! The only downside is that the straps at the top are too tight. Even though they are stretchy, they just don't stretch enough. Especially for wearing them all day and hiking. I absolutely love walking in these things and most of the time the straps don't bug me, but by the end of the day they are cutting into the top of my foot and leave marks.I'm so torn about whether to keep them, but I think I will because I just love them too much to part with them. I'm really, really hoping that the straps stretch over time.BTW, I like them way, way more than the Teva universal. Those didn't give me nearly enough support while walking and the grooved footbed catches every bit of dirt and looks gross.I have had my shoes for almost 5 years and they are still great! I have used these shoes for the beach, travel, hiking, and much more. They are great for activities or just normal every day use. They have been perfect for me and very comfortable. After 5 years there is some wear and tear to them but still perfect for my activities.I tried on various styles on Teva sandals and found this pair to be the best fit. I immediately felt like I was walking on clouds. The shoe is very lightweight. I don't know how well it would hold up on unstable terrain, but it held up to miles upon miles of walking on concrete. I wore these throughout a two week vacation to Bali and Singapore, where my husband and I did countless miles/hours of walking. The shoes do show some wear around the edges, but the straps are still firmly in place. My first day in them, I did develop a small raw spot on the top of one of my big toes, but they quickly wore in and caused me no further issues.UPDATE: Nearly a year later, I just want to add that these shoes are still in great condition and holding up fine after regular use. They've been worn in urban settings, on dirt trails, and kayaking.I had this exact shoe in black and when I found these really reasonable I had to buy them because I knew they would be perfect for travel and a good back up if my black ones ever really wear out. I have been super happy with both pairs (they are pretty much identical except color). I love wear these shoes with sun dresses because they look casual enough but also classy enough to go to the beach or to a restaurant in them. I love how quick they dry out and they feel pretty light compared to other rainproof shoes. I won't travel without them-great for hot weather and or wet weather. Not so great for hiking, once I had a stick get caught and I bled a lot but again these shoes were able to be wiped up with zero problems! Overall excellent product!I’m seriously thinking about getting a second pair of these. Just to keep them in the box if Teva gets rid of this style. My current pair purchased in 2019 is still going strong but better safe than sorry.I bought these for a 4+week trip to France in the summer of 2019. I packed a pair of comfortable sneakers and these as my only two show options. It wasn’t my first time in France so I knew to be prepared for lots of walking and lots of cobblestone.I didn’t wear my sneakers once.My feet didn’t hurt at the end of the day. I wore these with dresses, pants, and as water shoes during a kayak trip.A+ shoe for me.Overall this works well for a walking sandal. I just wish it had more tractionI felt compelled to write this review because I normally have a hard time finding good shoes and these have been great.Comfort:Great - no rubbing or chafing, the straps are not soft as such but they don't dig in. There are no straps around the toes so no issues with rubbing when you've been walking a long time. I've worn them for 7hours straight each day lots of walking and no problems.Support:I have flat feet/collapsed arches so I can't wear shoes with thin soles or no support. These have a good sturdy sole and some arch support and I've worn them all day every day for 3 days so far and no issues. Other shoes I've tried don't have a thick enough sole to absorb shock when walking so I end up with knee pain but not with these.Grip:I was worried they would be too far on the 'fashion' side and be inadequate for hiking but I'm glad to say I was proved wrong. I've hiked up and down Atlas mountain in these and the grip and sturdiness were brilliant. Also you can get them wet - I walked through streams and it's pleasant to feel the water over your feet and the grip is still good. They dry quickly too.Style:As far as walking shoes/sports shoes go these are the most stylish I have come across. They actually look like a sandal from the front and side, quite feminine. The heel strap is thicker and not stylish as it gives cushioning and support, looks more like a traditional hiking shoe at that point. Overall they have been good because they still look acceptable and stylish not too 'hikey' or like they are for older women (in early thirties) so I'm happy with themDurability:Can't comment for sure as only had them less than a week. But I've walked up and down all of Marrakesh and they haven't got scuffed or had bits fall apart yet.extremely comfortable sandals that make you feel like walking on air. They run small which is a blessing for me as I am not a real size 3 but more a 2 and those sandals fit perfectly (unlike most size 3 shoes where I tend to have a bit of space these are snug around my feet). The footbed is amazing but if you need extreme arch support you might find them not adequate just yet but for most people (like me) the sandals will provide you with the stability you need for walking around the city etc. all day. I didn't try hiking yet (since I don't tend to hike much) but can imagine them to be a good choice if you are on moderate terrain. For anything too challenging you would probably want to wear closed shoes anyways. In addition to being comfortable the shoes look nice and don't scream function immediately which is nice because I bought them mainly to be worn on days when I have to walk a lot and still want to have a decent looking sandal on my feet. These were a great purchase. I'm a 5.5UK and bought the 5, which are perfectly snug. I've worn them in the heat and the rain, walked loads in them, and tried with smart-ish holiday clothes as well as very casual wear, and they're great. I bought them because I'm vegetarian and don't wear leather, but was finding it hard to find a nice, simple and vaguely stylish pair of walking sandals for holidays - these have proven to be an excellent purchase.I was looking for a good, comfortable sole with reliable grip. The sole gives really good cushioning without being too soft. However, I wore them out for the first time today and there is not enough grip on smooth surfaces. I don't think I can trust them for that. Also, the elastic straps over the top of the foot are a little tight. Hopefully they will wear in. The velcro strap is too short as well.If you want open toe sandals that are comfortable but at the same time sturdy if a lot of walking is done these are it. They do not cost the earth like many other brands i was looking at and these look like they can hold up well for a long time. These can be worn on the beach and you would not have to worry about them getting ruined, they would just need a rinse down with clean water.
